Paragraph-8
MAKING
A PHONE CALL
Now a day it is ver important
to use telephone. So it is necessary to know how to make a phone call. For this
I made my brother to make phone call. This is what I told him to do. At first
find out the phone number of the person from the telephone dictionary whom you
like to ring. Then lift the receiver and listen it there is a dial tone. Next
if you get the dial tone, dial the number one digit after another. When you get
the ringing tone, wait untill some one says “Hallo” from the other end. It you do not get the ringing tone or
the line is engaged, dial the number once again. When someone responds with
“Hallo” the connection is established. After that you can talk to the person.
And finally you may listen to him as well on the phone.

the market. Then the rotten oranges are rejected. After that the wholesome
oranges are washed and peeled. Next the orange are crushed in a specially
designed bowl. Now the seeds are strained away and then sugar is added. Finally
the solution of sugar and orange juice stirred and the orange juice is ready.

The squash is now ready for use.
MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL
A life is the localities of
events. Without events no life is really formed. However, many things happened
in my life and I have forgotten most of them. But I can’t forget my best day at
my school. It was my first day at the high school I am studying now. I had just
completed my primary education. One day my mother told me that I was going to
be a student of a high school and my father would take me to the school the day
after. I was very excited. After that I could out think anything else. I was
always thinking about the school, the teachers and the students. I could not
even go to sleep at night. Next morning, my father took me to school. When I
reached the school campus, I got a litter frightened because all the people
there were strangers to me. My father took me to the headmaster. The headmaster
was very nice to me. She asked me a few questions in English and I could answer
them correctly. The headmaster was extremely pleased and I was admitted. Then a
teacher was called in and she was asked to take me to the class. I followed
her. She introduced me to the class and many students stared at me. I felt
embarrassed a little bit. But I could adjust myself to the new situations and
make friends with many. This is the shining day still I remember.
MY EXPERIENCE IN AN EXAMINATION HALL
I sat for the Junior
Scholarship Examination last December. It was my first exam out held side my
school premise. It was a new experience. The examination centre was the
collegiate school. I reached the centre at 9
am of the examination day. I
entered the hall room according to the seat plan. There was a huge gathering in
the room. I found out my seat. Some of the candidates become busy with their
books. But I remained silent. Some guardians and teachers entered the hall room
and gave their last advice to the examinees. With the warning bell we took our
respective seats. The invigilators came and distributed question papers. Answer
scripts were given just at 10 am.
At once I read the question paper. Most of the questions were common. As my
preparation was pretty well, I became overwhelmed with joy. But some of us
became nervous and some became dazed. I started writing attentively. My hours
passed smoothly and noiselessly. But some students tried to talk with others
and even tried to adopt unfair manes. But the invigilators were very strict. At
last the final bell rang at 1 pm
and we handed over the answer scripts to the invigilators. Then we rushed to
meet our guardians. In fact, my experience in aforesaid examination hall still
enlivens me when I appear in any examination.
MY HOBBY
Hobby is kinds of act, which gives us pleasure.
Gardening is my hobby. I think it is perhaps the most common and most
interesting then all hobbies. It gives pleasure, as all hobbies, with gardening
dominating all others. Every morning I get up very early to roam around in the
garden. Then the serenity of the fresh morning in the air refreshes my mind.
Lulling odour of various flowers and the eye- catching panorama of
multicoloured leaves and flowers make me feel as though I were perambulating in
a dreamland, like a lonely cloud over a remote hill. After enjoying a “light”
walk. I start working, watering the plants and weeding the garden. In the
afternoon too, I enjoy working in the garden clearing withered leaves flowers
and twigs, digging and loosening the earth, fencing, trimming plants and
sometimes fertilising. Hobby is for life, not for livelihood. Yet my garden
also pays me much. Life is a hung garden needing to be attended upon this I can
feel when I work in my garden.
THE FIRST MAN ON THE MOON
Among others, Neil Armstrong
was the first man on the moon. It was a long cherished dream for man. Man has
ever been dreaming of building up ships which could move through the space at
‘escape velocity’, that is at a speed which could counter the force of
gravitation of the earth. After many endeavours the cherished dream came to
true. In 1969, the three American astronauts made a successful journey to the
moon. According to the schedule the three American astronauts Neil Armstrong,
Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins got into their spaceship Apollo-11 and started
on their journey for the moon. On July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong climbed down from the landing
ship at 8:56 am, and began
his first walk on the moon, and became the first man on the moon. As he stepped
on the lunar surface Armstrong said, “That one step for man but one giant leap
for mankind. We are essentially on a very level place here on the moon. There
seems to be no difficulty in moving around. Twenty five minutes later his
companion Edwin Aldrin also joined him. On setting foot on the moon the
astronauts were moving freely, dancing wildly in excess of joy. They hoisted
the national flag of the USA
and collected a certain quantity of rocks and sands also. It is a triumph not
for a fraction of human race but a triumph of the whole of mankind. Thus many
yearning spirit ever been about knowing the unknown and conquering the
unconquered and will go on unravelling what still lies wrapped up in mystery.
HOW TO KEEP YOUR CLASSROOM TIDY
A healthy classroom is a
prerequisite for concentration an study. So, the classroom clean is very
essential. It is not a hard job but a united effort is a must to keep the
classroom tidy and hygienic first, you will got together all the students of
the class and brief them about the importance of cleanliness. You must make
some groups and assign a definite job to each group. Such as group a will
brush, group B will sweep the room. Then one group will move the chair, table,
benches for easy cleaning. Other group will be ready to sweep the spider nets
around the roofs and corners of the classroom. Next, the chair, the table and
the benches will be rearranged as if were before cleaning. After that,
everybody will be ready to dust out all the dust from the chair, table and
benches. Finally, their hands should and faces should be washed in water.
However, students should take a special interest in cleaning blackboard.
Teachers want the blackboard clean at the beginning of the class. After having
done all the activities, student, get to their class, concentrate into exam.
So, we see, a tidy classroom has a fan reaching effect upon the students.
