                                                   A MOON-LIT NIGHT
A moonlit night is pleasing to all. It offers a beautiful sight. The moon shines at night in the azure sky. She looks like a large disc of gold. The sparkling stars twinkle around the moon. The sky looks like a large canopy. The moon bathes the whole earth with her balmy light. Everything appears to be coated with silver. Rivers, canals and tanks seen to laugh in the splendid moonlight. The trees and creepers look bright and sparkling. Everybody gets cheerful. Boys make merry playing games in open fields. Poets fell a thrill of joy in their hearts. Grown up men and women also cannot keep indoors. They pass hours outside in gossips and story telling. Some birds come out of their rests and fly about. Beasts also come out of their folds and run to and fro. As men birds and beasts enjoy themselves on a moonlit night, it loses the dullness of a night and becomes as glorious as a day.

                                                        STREET ACCIDENT
Now a days, street accidents are quite common phenomenon in the high ways and cities of our country. Every year they kill hundreds of lives and leave thousands of others deformed or disabled some how or other. Every day we can find the news of street accidents in the dailies. A few days ago, I had to witness such a terrible holocaust. It was a holiday afternoon. I was going to visit my friend by rickshaw. When I reached the Tiger pass over bridge, the horrendous accident occurred. A baby taxi, which crossed my rickshaw a few seconds ago, was completely snarled by a loaded truck from the opposite direction. I think it happened in the twinkling of an eye. I was startled with the loud screeching sound combined with a series of thudding roars and loud human cries. The sight was very horrible. The taxi was totally mauled under the heavily loaded truck. The truck driver had already fled the scene taking the advantage of people’s bewilderment. All the pedestrians came forward to rescue the passengers. But it was not easy to extract the broken taxi from under the truck. However, at the moment an ambulance came rushing from a nearby clinic with a team of paramedics. These trained people worked quickly and we could realize that the three passengers including a minor girl were dead. The taxi driver was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to the hospital. I became so upset that I came back home with a heavy heart in lieu of going to friend’s house. When will we get rid of these mishaps? This is the question of my distressing mind.
